Immaculate Conception

Today we will attend Mass for the feast of the Immaculate Conception.

In my opinion, this is a hard concept to teacher to kinders. But, as always, I try my best. The feast of the Immaculate Conception recognizes Mary’s privilege of coming into the world free from sin.

Through the power of Jesus’ death and resurrection, every human being can be freed from sin at Baptism. Through that same power, Mary was always free from sin, even from that very first moment of life.

During Advent we discuss how God's people waited until God knew it was the perfect time to send his son. Mary being conceived without sin was part of this plan. We know that God has a plan for all of us.

Before we attend Mass we complete this coloring page to show us how Mary was free from sin before she was born. Thank goodness Catholic Icing is here to help all of us teachers!

Her picture perfectly depicts Mary in the womb of St. Ann. Because as she points out in her post - the Immaculate Conception is not when Jesus was conceived. But rather celebrates Mary being born free from sin.

She drew so much symbolism into this picture, it is amazing. Please stop over and check out the amazing things she is creating for us Catholic School teachers!
